Stroke & Brain Unit — PCU Travel Nurse

Kansas City, MO | Nights (19:00–07:00) | 13-Week Contract

This Stroke & Brain unit is a fast-paced, specialized environment focused on neurological and cardiac monitoring. The unit manages stroke patients and those requiring continuous telemetry oversight, with an engaged, experienced nursing team.

Schedule & Contract Details

• 4 x 12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:00)
• 3 shifts per week; 3–4 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start date: November 30

Clinical Scope

• Stroke and neurology patient population
• Telemetry monitoring and management
• Cardiac drip administration
• Basic dysrhythmia recognition and response
• Techs and unit secretaries available on the floor

Float Policy

Travelers may be floated to other areas based on demonstrated clinical competency.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Required Skills & Experience

• Active stroke experience
• Telemetry experience
• Cardiac drip management
• Neurology background strongly preferred

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs required
