Emergency Department RN – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join a fast-paced team managing patients across a full spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions. You'll work alongside physicians and specialists to deliver rapid, high-quality care in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

• Perform and comprehensive assessments to prioritize patient care
• Manage patients across all acuity levels, including trauma activations, cardiac emergencies, stroke cases, pediatric emergencies, and respiratory patients
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per protocols
• Respond to codes and rapid deterioration with appropriate emergency interventions
• Handle respiratory equipment including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilation support
• Perform IV access, phlebotomy, and procedural sedation as needed
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient flow and throughput
• Maintain safety, infection control, and de-escalation protocols

What We're Looking For

• Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• Minimum 1+ year Emergency Department experience
• Experience with protocols and high-acuity environments
• Comfort with all age groups and varying acuity levels
• Strong team player mentality; adaptable and willing to jump in wherever needed
• CEN or TNCC certification preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted

Schedule

• Second shift: 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekends and holidays as needed
