Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility's emergency department is seeking an experienced RN to join a fast-paced, high-acuity team. You'll provide direct patient care across a broad spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions, from pediatric emergencies to trauma activations and critical cardiac and stroke cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and comprehensive assessments to prioritize patient care
• Manage patients across varying acuity levels, including trauma, cardiac, stroke, respiratory, and pediatric emergencies
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and established protocols
• Respond to codes and rapid clinical deterioration with appropriate emergency interventions
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Manage respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator care
• Perform IV access, phlebotomy, and procedural sedation as needed
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the patient record
• Maintain patient flow and throughput in a high-volume environment

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• Minimum 1+ year of emergency department experience
• ADN or BSN
• Strong and assessment skills
• Comfort managing all age groups and multiple acuity levels
• TNCC and CEN preferred

Schedule

• 3rd shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3 days per week (12-hour shifts)
• Weekends and holidays as scheduled
• 13-week contract
