Oncology Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Oncology RN to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. You'll work in a supportive environment focused on patient-centered healing and wellness.
Schedule & Duration
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 13-week contract
- Start date: November 30, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy per physician orders and safety protocols
- Assess patients before, during, and after treatment; monitor for adverse reactions and side effects
- Initiate and manage vascular access (peripheral IVs, PICC lines, implanted ports)
- Manage treatment-related symptoms including nausea, pain, fatigue, and neutropenia
- Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care strategies
- Offer emotional support to patients and families navigating cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Document assessments, treatments, and responses accurately
- Adhere to safe handling protocols for hazardous drugs per OSHA/USP <800> guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
- ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
- BLS certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS)
- 1+ years of oncology nursing experience
- Strong IV access and vascular assessment skills
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- ACLS certification
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
