Medical Laboratory Technologist

Position Overview

The facility's laboratory is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and specialized testing across multiple departments. You will work independently to process specimens, operate analyzers, validate results, and ensure all testing meets strict quality control standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, and urinalysis
• Collect, process, and prepare specimens with proper handling, labeling, and chain of custody
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment
• Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot discrepancies
• Record and report results accurately in the Laboratory Information System
• Identify and resolve problems affecting test quality; communicate delays to clinical staff
• Report critical values and abnormal results promptly
• Follow OSHA, infection control, and biohazard safety protocols
• Assist with inventory and supply management as needed

Requirements

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited program
• MLT certification (ASCP or AMT)
• State licensure as applicable
• 1+ years of clinical laboratory experience
• Proficiency with LIS systems and laboratory equipment
• BLS certification may be required

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Three days per week
• Weekends and holidays as needed
• 13-week contract
