Dialysis Nurse – In-Hospital Dialysis Services

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Dialysis Nurse to provide in-hospital hemodialysis (IHD) services in both a dedicated dialysis unit and at the bedside of ICU patients. You'll manage stable patients in the dialysis unit and care for critically ill patients requiring bedside hemodialysis who cannot be transported. You'll also connect and disconnect patients from peritoneal dialysis treatment.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 3x12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) or 4x10s
• On-call rotation and every other weekend
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• 12 months of permanent dialysis nursing experience (required)
• Permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand at time of submission
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications
• One professional reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) from work in the past 12 months
• Clear background check; no open cases or license hits
• Successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation (2 attempts maximum)

Clinical Scope

You'll work primarily with Fresenius hemodialysis machines and receive full orientation to equipment and unit protocols. This role does not include CRRT therapy management—that remains with ICU nursing staff.

What to Expect

Comprehensive onboarding includes pre-start modules and ongoing competency requirements for extended or returning assignments. All certifications and assessments must be active and current at hire.
