Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an RN for its medical-surgical telemetry unit. You'll provide direct care to acutely ill adult and geriatric patients recovering from surgery, managing complex medical conditions, and requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
Shift & Schedule
- Day shift: 3x12-hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- 13-week contract
- Float required to other facility campuses as needed
- Must work at least one day during each winter holiday period (Christmas Eve or Christmas Day; NYE or NYD)
Clinical Scope
You'll care for patients with:
- Acute and chronic respiratory illness
- Post-operative general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic (total knee/hip replacements)
- CHF and pulmonary edema
- Active GI bleeding
- Diabetes management (hyper- and hypoglycemic episodes)
- Renal failure
- Drug overdose
- Arrhythmias and new-onset seizures
- Patients requiring withdrawal management and behavioral health monitoring
- Stable COVID-positive patients
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
- BLS certification
- ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- MS/Tele and telemetry experience required
- Ability to manage central lines, ports, chest tubes, and peripheral IV therapy
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG reading
- Active state nursing license
- Current driver's license

- EKG compliance exam (2 attempts allowed)
- 36 hours orientation
