Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department nurse for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) in a hospital-based ED serving a diverse patient population, including those with acute psychiatric needs.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Manage acuity across medical, surgical, trauma, and behavioral health cases
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality emergency care
- Wear ceil blue scrubs
Schedule & Assignment Details
- Shift: 4 x 12 (nights)
- Hours: 48 guaranteed hours per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 8, 2026
- Location: Wichita, Kansas
Requirements
- Current RN license (Kansas)
- BLS/ACLS and EKG certification required
- Proficiency with electronic health records
- Ability to float and adapt to changing patient census
- Must complete facility onboarding requirements, including skills validation, specialty exams, and immunization documentation
Onboarding
Standard onboarding includes clinical competency assessments, EKG testing, system training, background check, and immunization verification (MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB screening, Influenza, and fit testing).
