Utilization Review RN
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in Utilization Review. This is a Monday–Friday, day shift role (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) providing acute care utilization review and discharge planning support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform utilization review and discharge planning for acute care patients
- Manage utilization management case assignments
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to optimize patient transitions
- Document findings in the electronic health record system
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered RN license (New York)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 12 months of acute care hospital experience
- Recent acute care utilization review or hospital-based insurance utilization management experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and function at full capacity following a 3-day orientation
Preferred Qualifications
- PRI and Screen certification
What to Expect
- 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
- Business casual or solid color scrubs
- 3-day training period; full productivity expected thereafter
- Guaranteed contract hours

Utilization Review operates differently from traditional case management. This role requires comfort with UM workflows and the ability to transition quickly to independent practice.
