Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights, 12-hour shifts)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled RN to join the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, including assessments, treatments, and nursing interventions based on the nursing process
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (cardiac, respiratory, diabetes, and others)
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry and EKG interpretation
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
