Medical ICU (MICU) — Travel RN | Birmingham, AL

Nights | 13-Week Contract | Start: November 30, 2026

This MICU position places you in a high-acuity critical care environment managing complex medical patients, including those presenting with sepsis, respiratory failure, and multi-organ dysfunction. You'll work alongside intensivists and an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, life-sustaining care.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week (three 12-hour nights)

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and those requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Titrate vasoactive drips, sedation, and other critical care infusions
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, and continuous hemodynamic monitoring
• Intervene during rapid response and code situations
• Assess and respond to acute changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with the care team on individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on condition and care goals
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation

Requirements

• Active RN license in Alabama (or applicable compact license)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum 2 years of recent MICU/critical care experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
