Emergency Department RN – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week travel assignment. You'll work the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment managing a diverse patient population with emergent and urgent conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- and rapidly assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across trauma activations, codes, and critical deterioration
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and protocols
- Monitor and manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
- Support patient flow and throughput in a high-volume setting
- Follow infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- TNCC and CEN certifications preferred
