Assistant Director of Nursing
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to provide clinical and administrative leadership for an assigned unit or department. You will oversee daily operations, support staff development, and ensure quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage unit staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain safe patient coverage
- Monitor performance metrics, quality indicators, and compliance with hospital policies and accreditation standards
- Support staff performance management, including evaluations and disciplinary actions
- Serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for complex patient care and staff concerns
- Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and hospital administration on operational needs
- Facilitate staff education, meetings, and new team member onboarding
- Participate in budget planning, supply management, and process improvement initiatives
- Address patient and family concerns to maintain satisfaction and safety
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- BLS certification
- 7 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or charge nurse role
- 2+ years of behavioral health experience
- Strong leadership, staffing, and performance management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing
- ACLS certification
Shift & Contract Details
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
- 13-week contract
- Start date: November 23, 2026
