Registered Nurse – Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays as required
• 13-week contract

The Role

You'll provide critical care to adult and geriatric patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery. The unit specializes in post-operative recovery and complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring. You'll work alongside a cardiovascular educator, delivering patient-centered care in a safe, supportive environment. Float assignments to other units and hospitals are part of this role.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license (Alabama or compact; no temporary licenses)
• Associate degree in nursing
• Minimum 2 years recent CVICU experience
• AHA BLS, AHA NIH, and Red Cross certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• AHA PALS (if working in pediatric settings)
