Stepdown Float Pool RN
Position Overview
Join the float pool supporting a stepdown unit. You'll provide skilled nursing care to patients transitioning from higher acuity settings, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
Shift & Schedule
- 3 x 12-hour rotating shifts:
- Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Night: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Shifts may rotate based on operational needs; the facility will work to honor preferences when possible
- Every other holiday required
- 13-week contract
Float Requirements
You'll float to designated stepdown and acute care units, caring for the same patient populations across settings.
Required Qualifications
- Current, active PERMANENT Ohio license or compact state license (in hand at time of submission)
- 12 months permanent experience in stepdown nursing
- Active certifications:
- BLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- One professional reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) from specialty experience within the past 12 months
During Orientation
You'll complete an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment; acceptable scores on both are required to continue (maximum 2 attempts).
Additional Requirements
- Background clearance and drug screening
- Clean license and background history
- COVID-19 and flu vaccination (medical/religious exemptions available)
