Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Travel RN

Hermitage, TN | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 13-Week Contract

This PCU assignment places you in a collaborative, high-functioning unit known for strong teamwork and a supportive culture. The unit manages a diverse step-down population with moderate-to-high acuity, including stroke, post-cardiac catheterization, and respiratory-compromised patients. Tech support is available to assist with direct patient care.

Clinical Scope

• Patients on BiPAPs, high-flow oxygen, and other complex oxygen delivery systems
• Cardiac, heparin, and insulin drip management
• Peritoneal dialysis (experience preferred)
• Procedures: thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, NG/Dobhoff tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting
• Tube feeding management

Schedule & Requirements

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every-other-weekend commitment required
• Self-scheduling; 4-week schedule cycles
• Float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed
• Hourly rounding on days; AIDET communication standards expected

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS

Dress Code: Black scrubs
