Medical-Surgical / Pulmonary RN — Travel Contract

Des Moines, IA | Nights | 13 Weeks

This travel RN role is on a Pulmonary/Med-Surg unit caring for patients with complex respiratory and general medical needs. Float coverage across multiple campuses is required.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour night shifts; 48 hours/week standard (36 hrs/week may be accommodated based on preference)
• Every other or every third weekend, depending on staffing and census
• Holiday rotation required: 1–2 of the 3 upcoming winter holidays

Clinical Scope

• Pulmonary and medical-surgical patient population
• Heparin drips
• Care for ventilated patients, including BiPAP management and trach care
• Potential exposure to COVID-positive patients
• Float across multiple affiliated campuses

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current Med-Surg experience
• Pulmonary patient care experience
• Trauma experience (Level III minimum required; Level I/II preferred)
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• AHA or ARC BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP, and trach care
• Charge nurse experience
• First-time travelers welcome if 2+ years of Med-Surg experience is met

• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the past 24 months
