Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility seeks experienced Medical-Surgical Telemetry RNs for night shift (19:00–07:00) on a 13-week contract. This is a fast-paced unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, pulmonary, GI, and infectious conditions, as well as those with unmanaged diabetes and pain management needs.

Clinical Scope & Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; activate Rapid Response Teams as needed
• Perform phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement (mandatory competencies)
• Manage non-invasive airway support, oxygen delivery, and isolation precautions
• Utilize bladder scanners, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, and portable oxygen equipment
• Collaborate with PCTs who handle vital signs, glucose checks, EKGs, and ADL support

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (every other weekend required)

• Float Requirement: Yes — may float to ED boarders, stable ICU, med-surg, and stable acute brain injury patients
• Block scheduling: Facility will attempt to accommodate; not guaranteed

Requirements

• Current New York RN license (required in hand at submission)
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year recent nursing experience
• First-time travelers welcome
• Limited time off (maximum 1 week RTO per contract)

Scrubs: Any combination of navy and white
