Telemetry RN — Travel Contract | La Jolla, CA

Day Shift | 13-Week Contract | 3x12-Hour (07:00–19:30)

This telemetry position supports an adult and geriatric population across a multi-campus health system, with a broad scope of medical-surgical, orthopedic, urological, and telemetry diagnoses. Travelers must be comfortable floating to like or lower-acuity units at other campuses as needed.

Shift & Scheduling

• Days: 07:00–19:30 (3x12s)
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week cycle (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• At least one holiday shift required, including holiday weekend coverage

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Clinical Scope

Candidates should be proficient in:

• Cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip management (no titration required)
• Intracranial bleeds, CVA/stroke, and TBI management
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
• Heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, chest tubes
• Orthopedic trauma, total joint replacement, traction
• Thrombolytic agent administration

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of concurrent telemetry experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Electronic health record experience within the last 6 months of work history
• Active California RN license (Temp or Perm) required at time of submission
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Additional Details

• Orientation: 36 hours
• Float: May float within the system to equivalent or lower-acuity units, excluding the ED
• Location: La Jolla, CA | No candidates residing within 100 miles eligible
