Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN

Position Overview

Join the stepdown unit at the facility to provide care for post-acute cardiac and medical/surgical patients. This role offers a mix of progressive care and telemetry patients with varying acuity levels—the kind of work that challenges and rewards experienced stepdown nurses.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour shifts, days (07:00–19:00) or 4x12-hour shifts, days
• Weekdays with some weekend coverage required
• Weekend-block scheduling considered (Friday–Sunday or Saturday–Monday)

Qualifications

• License: Current RN license (WV or Compact; pending license accepted)
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Experience Required:
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• 1 year Med/Surg or Telemetry
• 2 years Stepdown unit experience
• Clinical Skills:
• IV insertion and peripheral line management
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Central line, chest tube, tracheostomy, and surgical drain care
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip management
• ABG interpretation and non-invasive airway management

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension
• Start Date: ASAP
• Orientation: Held every other Monday (8 hours)
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week

Unit Support

IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Rapid Response, Pharmacy, and Social Services available.
