Medical-Surgical RN — Travel Contract | Morgantown, WV

Shift: Days, 4x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00)

Contract Length: 13 weeks | Extension possible

About the Unit

This acute care med-surg unit manages adults with a wide range of medical conditions across a busy telemetry-capable floor. The unit operates with strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services, and phlebotomy. Clinical nurse coordinators lead every shift, facilitating huddles and managing patient flow.

Scheduling

• 4x12 days; 3x12 scheduling also considered
• 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
• 12-hour orientation

Clinical Skills Required

• Telemetry interpretation and remote monitoring
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• Chest tube, surgical drain, and wound care/wound vac management
• Tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation, and PCA management
• Pre/post cardiac cath and hemodialysis management
• CVA care and renal failure management
• Code/rapid response team participation

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license (pending accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS — BLS & ACLS must be AHA-issued
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references within the past 2 years
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Important: The facility has a strict attendance policy — no more than 2–3 call-offs permitted per contract.
