Operating Room RN – Cardiac & General Surgery

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join a busy surgical team. You will circulate and scrub across a diverse surgical service with an average daily census of 22 cases.

Shift & Schedule

• 1 day of call per week
• 1–2 weekend calls per 4–5 week cycle (Saturday–Sunday 7a–7p, with variations)
• 30-minute response time when on call
• Orientation every other Friday
• 13-week contract

Required Experience & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Minimum 1 year in-specialty operating room experience (cardiac and general surgery required)
• BLS certification
• Both circulating and scrubbing proficiency

Clinical Scope

You must be proficient in:

• Cardiac surgery (CABG, valve procedures, MAZE, VAD management)
• General surgery (colorectal resections, laparoscopic procedures, Whipple, liver resections, thyroid, mastectomy)
• Vascular surgery (AV fistulas/grafts, aortic surgeries/bypasses, carotid, femoral–popliteal bypass, embolectomy)
• Orthopedic procedures (arthroscopy, total joint replacement)
• ENT (tracheostomy, laryngectomy, radical neck dissection)
• Urology (cystectomy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, implants)
• Robotic surgery (gynecologic, colorectal, hernia, laparoscopic Nissen)
• Gynecologic surgery (abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair)

Requirements

• WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted)
• Permanent address within 100 miles of facility (75–99 miles considered case-by-case)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions with documentation accepted; flu season October 1–March 31)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Limit holiday time-off requests to 1 of 3 major holidays
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
