Labor & Delivery RN – Travel Contract | Maryville, TN

Nights | 13-Week Contract | Start: November 2026

This night-shift L&D travel position supports a busy obstetrical unit managing a broad range of maternal and newborn cases, from low-risk term labor through complex antepartum and gynecological overflow patients.

Shift & Schedule

• 3×12-hour nights, 18:45–07:15
• Every other weekend required; may vary based on unit need
• Call required

Clinical Scope

The unit cares for patients across term labor, antepartum surveillance, newborn care, and gyn med/surg (post-op hysterectomy, mastectomy). Overflow capacity includes non-infectious female medical patients (appendectomy, pancreatitis, diabetes, pre-eclampsia).

Special Procedures

• assessments, inductions, cesareans, external cephalic versions
• NSTs, circumcisions, newborn resuscitation and stabilization
• Magnesium sulfate administration

Required Certifications

BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate

Requirements

• Active RN Tennessee license
• Minimum 2 years L&D experience — no first-time travelers
• 1 year of electronic health record experience using a major charting system
• Previous travel experience required
• Charge experience preferred

Floating

Float to other units is required based on census need; assignments will align with demonstrated competencies only.

Vaccines

• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions
• COVID-19 vaccine not required

Pre-Assignment

Online modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials. Up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable.
