Emergency Room RN — Travel Contract | Long Beach, CA

This Emergency Department position offers variable mid shifts (start times between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM) on a 3x12-hour schedule, with a 13-week contract. The department cares for a broad patient population spanning neonates through geriatrics, managing high-acuity presentations across a busy urban ED.

Shift & Scheduling

• 3x12-hour shifts, variable mids (09:00–14:00 start times)
• Weekends as needed (up to approximately 4 weekend days per month)
• No float requirement, no on-call requirement
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Active California RN license in hand at time of submission
• Nursys verification required (pulled within 2 weeks of submission)

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS

Key Clinical Skills

• Arterial line and central line management
• BiPAP/CPAP and ventilated patient care
• IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation
• Blood product administration
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Stroke and STEMI patient management
• , dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Arterial blood gas interpretation
• Management of traumatic injuries including head injury, CVA, and seizures

Additional Details

• Orientation: approximately 24 hours, including required non-billable training modules completed prior to or during orientation
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• One professional reference required (within the past 2 years)
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible
