ICU RN — Travel Contract | Nights | Fountain Valley, CA

Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: December 15, 2026

About the Unit

This adult and geriatric ICU manages a broad spectrum of high-acuity patients, including those with multisystem organ dysfunction, acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, post-neurosurgical needs, spinal cord injury, and complex cardiac conditions. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, Radiology, Phlebotomy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams.

Clinical Skills & Procedures

Candidates should be proficient in several of the following:

• Arterial line, central line, and pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• CVVHD/CRRT, ICP monitoring, and external ventricular drain (EVD) management
• Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips; IV insulin protocols
• CVA/acute stroke and hypothermia protocol management
• Blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Procedural sedation, sheath removal, and chest tube assistance
• IABP, Impella, ECMO, and TAVR experience (preferred)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU staff-level experience
• Active California RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• First-time travelers welcome

Scheduling Details

• Every other weekend required; at least 2 winter and 1 summer holiday
• Float to MS, Telemetry, Oncology, or ED based on census
• No on-call requirement
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
