Medical-Surgical / Telemetry RN — Long Beach, CA

13-Week Contract | Day Shift | 3×12-Hour Shifts (07:00–19:30)

About the Unit

This busy Med-Surg/Telemetry unit manages adult and geriatric patients across a wide range of diagnoses, including stroke, TBI, seizures, cardiac conditions, respiratory illness, orthopedic and wound care needs, oncology, and post-surgical recovery. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapy, social services, and lift teams.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 07:00–19:30 | 3×12-hour blocks
• Every other weekend required
• Call and float required; candidates will float within the hospital based on census

Required Skills & Certifications

• BLS (required); NIHSS (preferred)
• Telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Peripheral line care and management
• Oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Rapid Response and Code team experience
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Travel experience required
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible

Scrubs: Navy blue

Additional Requirements

• Active California RN license in hand at time of submission
• Nursys verification required (pulled within 2 weeks of submission)
• One professional reference required (within the past 2 years)
• Requested time off must be submitted at time of application; no additions accepted after submission
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Non-billable orientation modules required (approximately 8–14 hours)
