Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) — Travel RN

Long Beach, CA | Days | 13-Week Contract

This CCU opportunity is ideal for an experienced cardiac critical care nurse ready to work in a high-acuity environment managing complex adult and geriatric patients.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Self-scheduling
• No on-call required

Clinical Scope

The unit cares for adults and geriatrics with high-acuity cardiac and multi-system diagnoses. Expected competencies include:

• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Management of IABP, Impella, ECMO, and PA/Swan-Ganz lines
• Post-cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath and intervention
• STEMI management, TAVR, valve repair/replacement
• Ventilator and arterial line management
• CVVHD/CRRT, ICP monitoring, EVD care
• CVA/stroke management, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury
• Procedural sedation, continuous IV sedation

Float Requirement

Floating is required to ICU, PCU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and ED holding based on census.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• CCRN preferred
• EKG exam required
• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• Nursys verification required (pulled within 2 weeks)

Experience

• Minimum 2 years cardiac critical care
• Previous charge experience preferred
• STEMI experience preferred

Additional Requirements

• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• 1 professional reference within the past 2 years
• RTO must be submitted at time of application; no additions after submission
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible
