Oncology RN — Travel Contract | Long Beach, CA

13-Week Contract | Day Shift | 3×12-Hours (07:00–19:30)

This oncology unit cares for a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across a range of complex diagnoses. The unit is fast-paced and supported by an interdisciplinary team including pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, social services, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy.

Shift & Scheduling

• Days: 07:00–19:30 | Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Self-scheduling; float required to Med/Surg, Med/Tele, and ED based on census

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active California RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• BLS
• ONS Chemotherapy Certification
• Nursys verification required (pulled within 2 weeks of submission)

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years of oncology or similar nursing experience
• IVIG experience required
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Port access and management; PICC and central line care
• Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Blood product administration; heparin and insulin protocols
• High-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care
• Pre/post hemodialysis management; wound care/wound vac
• Rapid response and code team activation

Additional Requirements

• 1 professional reference required (within 2 years)
• No prior permanent staff at this facility
• Orientation includes non-billable training modules completed on-site
• First-time travelers accepted
