Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract

Long Beach, CA | Days | 13-Week Contract

This high-volume Emergency Department in Long Beach, CA is seeking an experienced travel RN for a day shift contract. The ED serves a broad patient population spanning neonates through geriatrics, managing a wide spectrum of emergent and critical presentations in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

• 3×12-hour days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Weekends required per department needs
• No on-call required; no scheduled float outside the hospital

Required Experience

• Minimum 2.5 years of experience in a high-volume emergency department with trauma experience
• Must be comfortable managing complex, high-acuity presentations across all age groups

Clinical Scope

• , procedural sedation, arterial line management, central line care
• BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation
• Stroke and cardiac care, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, ortho trauma
• Blood product administration, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia management

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• TNCC and CPI preferred

Submission Requirements

• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• 1 professional reference within the past 2 years
• Any requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
• Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible

Additional Notes

• Orientation: approximately 24 hours, including non-billable module training
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
