Physician Assistant – Orthopedics

About the Role

Join the orthopedic team providing comprehensive medical and surgical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You'll manage patient care across the full spectrum of orthopedic conditions, from routine postoperative management to emergency stabilization.

What You'll Do

• Provide inpatient medical management: order diagnostics, labs, imaging, and medications within PA scope; manage adjunctive care and nutrition.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate treatment plans with physicians, nursing staff, and families.
• Manage patient discharges, including disposition planning, follow-up coordination, and patient education.
• Perform bedside history and physical examinations.
• Assess and respond to emergency conditions in collaboration with attending physicians.
• Function as first or second surgical assistant in the operating room, including surgical exposure, dissection, wound closure, and application of dressings and immobilization devices.

What We're Looking For

• Current California Physician Assistant License.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• DEA license.
• Minimum three years of experience in inpatient, outpatient, and surgical care.
• Compassionate, excellent communicator with strong critical-thinking skills.

Position Details

• Full-time with on-call coverage including nights and weekends.
• 26-week contract.
• Potential clinic location coverage as needed.
