Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift | Nashville, Tennessee
This 13-week travel contract places you on a busy Labor & Delivery unit in Nashville, TN, working 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM on 12-hour night shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Clinical Scope
The unit manages the full spectrum of L&D care, including:
- Vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- D&C and cerclage procedures
- Epidural anesthesia support
- Tub/hydrotherapy labor
- Immediate newborn care following delivery
- Circulating and recovering C-section patients
The unit operates with RN, unit secretary, and OR tech support.
Scheduling
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Three weekend shifts per contract period
- One on-call shift required for RNs
Float Policy
Travelers float first per unit policy.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate fetal monitoring (not Advanced) or CEFM certification
Dress Code
Ceil blue, navy blue, or gray scrubs — not provided by the facility.
This role is well-suited for an experienced L&D nurse comfortable with high-acuity obstetric patients, surgical support, and shared decision-making care models.
