Night Shift | 13-Week Contract
This Labor & Delivery position offers night shift coverage (18:45–07:15) on a high-acuity OB unit in Asheville, NC. The unit manages the full spectrum of obstetric care, from routine vaginal deliveries to complex, high-risk cases.
Clinical Scope
Nurses on this unit perform and assist with:
- Vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
- D&C, cerclage, and cesarean hysterectomy (C-Hyst)
- Immediate newborn care and resuscitation
- High-risk antepartum and intrapartum management
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 18:45–07:15
- Guaranteed 36 hours/week
- Weekends and on-call not required (available upon approval)
- Contract duration: 16 weeks | Start date: October 8, 2026
Float Requirements
May float to Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit (MFMU), Mother-Baby (MOMB), or NICU.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
- High-risk OB experience
- Proficiency in immediate newborn care
- Current NRP, BLS/ALS, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications
- Active NC RN license (or compact)
Preferred
- Circulating experience (OR scrub for cesarean sections)
