Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). This is a 13-week contract position in Richmond, KY.

About the Role

You'll provide direct patient care to adults with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. Core responsibilities include continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, administering medications and treatments per physician orders, managing pre- and post-operative care, and coordinating care for patients with chronic and acute conditions such as diabetes, cardiac disease, and respiratory diagnoses.

You'll educate patients and families on their conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions, and collaborate closely with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning. Typical patient load is 4–6 patients per shift, depending on acuity. You'll ensure accurate documentation in the EMR and maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency required
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
