Emergency Department RN — Asheville, NC

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: January 3, 2027

This busy Emergency Department serves a highly diverse, multicultural community and manages a broad spectrum of acuity — from behavioral health holds to high-acuity medical and trauma presentations. The department is known for its strong teamwork culture and welcoming, collaborative staff.

Unit Details:

• High-volume ED covering medical, trauma, and stroke patients

• Techs available in cardiac monitoring, , and internal processing areas; unit clerks on both days and nights
• Floating within the ED only — candidates must be comfortable working all sections of the department
• Scheduling includes every other weekend; block scheduling is not available

Required Certifications (all prior to start date unless noted):

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC within 90 days of hire

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an ED setting
• High-volume ED and stroke experience strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work across all areas of the department
