ICU Registered Nurse – New York City, NY
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll deliver direct care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced intensive care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN license
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Minimum 2 years of critical care experience
- 2 years of conscious sedation experience
- 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
- Primary source verification of license through NYS Department of Education
Preferred Qualifications
- CCRN certification
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct, comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity patients requiring intensive monitoring and support
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition; escalate care as needed
- Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips, per physician orders
- Manage advanced life support equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, hemodynamic monitors)
- Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams on the plan of care
- Perform rapid response and code interventions
- Educate patients and families on condition and treatment plan
- Maintain accurate documentation in the patient record
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols
