Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an RN to provide comprehensive nursing care on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. You'll work with adult patients managing a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced environment requiring strong clinical judgment and collaboration.

Shift & Contract

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Start date: November 30, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, medication administration, and wound care
• Manage pre- and post-operative patients, including pain management and mobility support
• Administer cardiac drips and other medications per physician orders
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care planning and discharge coordination
• Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)
• Implement infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years of Medical-Surgical or Telemetry experience
• Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• ADN minimum; BSN preferred
