Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility seeks a Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical and Telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Shift & Duration

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Start date: November 30, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and vital sign assessment; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute diagnoses (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory conditions)
• Conduct patient and family education on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team on individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Ensure compliance with infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Typically manage 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 1+ year of Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
