Physical Therapist – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week contract assignment in Abilene, TX. You'll work day shift (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) and deliver direct patient care in a dynamic rehab setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history, systems review, and relevant tests and measures
- Develop individualized, patient-centered treatment plans addressing specific impairments and functional deficits
- Establish discharge plans beginning at the first visit and adjust care based on ongoing reassessment
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff and students consistent with state regulations
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation per department policy and accreditation standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team using evidence-based engagement principles
- Assess patient and caregiver education needs and provide appropriate instruction
- Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities
- Ensure a safe environment for all patients, visitors, and staff
Required Qualifications
- Physical Therapy license (Texas or compact state license required)
- Minimum 2 years of PT clinical experience
- Valid state practice credentials
