NICU RN — 12-Hour Day Shifts

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week contract in a Level III unit. You'll provide direct patient care to neonates with congenital abnormalities, as well as feeders and growers requiring intermediate to high-acuity support.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation
• No floating; unit-specific assignment
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Scope

• Manage ventilators (respiratory therapy on unit 24/7)
• Titrate drips and manage IV access
• Read and interpret cardiac strips
• Monitor via telemetry with bedside tech support
• Collaborate with in-house neonatologist available 24/7
• 24/7 pharmacy support on unit

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years NICU experience at Level III or above
• BLS certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• NIHSS certification

Additional Details

• 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided
• Navy scrubs
• Charge nurse on unit (does not carry patient load)
• No nurse aides; nursing staff provide hands-on care
• Cancellation policy: up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
