NICU

NICU – Level III | Night Shift | San Bernardino, CA

13-Week Contract | 36 Hours Guaranteed Per Week

This Level III NICU cares for a high-acuity neonatal population with a focus on congenital abnormalities, feeders/growers, and ventilator-dependent infants. ECMO is not performed on this unit. A neonatologist is in-house 24/7, with respiratory therapy and pharmacy also available around the clock.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights: 1845–0715
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation
• First to float; no unit-to-unit floating required

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience (or higher)
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Experience titrating drips
• Comfortable managing ventilator patients (RT manages vents but bedside involvement expected)

Required Certifications

• BLS
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• NIHSS

Unit Details

• Charge nurse on duty (typically non-patient assignment)
• No nurse aides on unit; no IV team
• 3-shift floor-specific orientation
• Scrub color: Navy

Cancellation Policy

The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.

BSN not required. Active state license required for submission. Anticipated start date: November 9, 2026.
