Neuro Stepdown & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) — Registered Nurse

Morgantown, WV | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is based in a combined Neuro Stepdown and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, caring for higher-acuity neuroscience patients. The unit manages a diverse caseload including stroke patients, seizure disorders, craniotomies, and EVD cases. Strong neuro assessment skills and hands-on stroke care experience are essential.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every-other-weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday rotation required
• Flexibility for consecutive shifts preferred but not guaranteed

Clinical Details

• Stepdown patients require strong neuro experience; EVD experience preferred
• Post-TPA management handled by permanent staff only
• Titratable drips managed per physician order (amiodarone, cardizem, nitro, dopamine, insulin, and others)
• Telemetry present; RNs not required to read strips independently
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7; RNs not required to manage ventilators independently
• Charge Nurse coverage 24/7; nurse aides on unit each shift

Floating

Possible float to other medical-surgical and stepdown units within the facility.

Requirements

• Active RN license (willing to wait for state licensure)
• BLS required
• NIHSS required — must be in hand at time of submission
• ACLS preferred
• Strong neuro and stroke care background required
• COVID vaccination required (exemptions considered)
