Critical Care Respiratory Therapist – 12-Hour Days
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract in a critical care setting. You'll provide respiratory support across the ICU and medical-surgical/telemetry units, working 12-hour day shifts with every-other-weekend rotation.
Requirements
- 2–5 years' experience in critical care with travel assignments
- Current RRT licensure (California requires RRT; CRT not accepted)
- ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
- Experience with respiratory therapy-driven protocols
- Willingness to float to all clinical areas except NICU
Schedule & Expectations
- 12-hour days, typically 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
- Every other weekend; plan to work most holidays
- Schedules posted 3–4 weeks in advance
- 2-day floor-specific orientation
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Clinical Scope
You'll manage patients with COPD, asthma, ia, and CHF, performing breathing treatments, ABG draws, EKGs, NIV, HFNC therapy, IPV, and PEP/PAP therapy. A hospitalist is available 24/7, and a charge RT provides on-site leadership.
