Registered Nurse – NICU
Position Overview
The facility seeks a Registered Nurse for its Level 3 NICU. This is a 13-week contract position offering 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Scheduling: Flexible; no block scheduling
- Float Role: You will function as a float nurse across all units within the Women's Hospital, supporting patient care without a fixed assignment
Unit Description
The NICU provides high-acuity care for critically ill and premature neonates. The interprofessional team includes Charge RNs, Code Neonatal RNs, nursing support staff, and lactation specialists. Scrubs are navy blue.
Requirements
- Current RN license (Texas)
- Valid Driver's License or State ID
- Immunizations: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza Vaccine
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot)
- Fit test and health statement on file
- Professional references and employment verification
- Background check clearance
- PALS certification (must be current or obtainable)
Onboarding
You will complete facility-specific competency assessments, skills validation, and orientation requirements prior to start date. All required documentation and compliance items must be submitted during the onboarding process.
