Emergency Room RN — Travel Contract

Newburgh, NY | 13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Nights

This fast-paced emergency department opportunity is ideal for experienced ER nurses comfortable managing high patient volumes and a wide range of acuity levels. The facility operates as an acute care emergency unit requiring strong independent clinical judgment and the ability to handle demanding patient loads.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-hour nights
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• No call or standby requirement; no floating

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active New York RN License
• ACLS, BLS, PALS
• NIHSS (AHA or APEX)

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience preferred
• Must be comfortable managing high patient ratios in a busy ED environment

Dress Code: Dark blue or white scrubs

Competency Exams

Upon orientation, travelers will complete two proctored exams — both must be passed with a minimum score of 80%:

• Medication Test (Adult & Pediatric): 20-question exam covering basic medication administration; formula sheet and calculator provided
• Dysrhythmia Recognition Exam: 16 rhythm strips requiring rhythm identification and knowledge of appropriate treatment or intervention

Cancellation Policy

No call-off policy; 14 days written notice required for contract cancellation.
