Med/Surg Telemetry Travel Nurse — Rochester, NY

This 13-week contract places you in a complex care unit managing medicine patients, ortho overflow, and long-term acute cases. Shifts are rotating 4x12s (days 7a–7p and nights 7p–7a), with an every-other-weekend commitment. A valid New York State RN license must be in hand at time of submission — no exceptions. Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible.

Unit Scope & Patient Population

• High-acuity med/surg telemetry with on-unit monitoring
• Ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and complex medical diagnoses
• Wound care, wound vac, tracheostomy management
• Respiratory support including high-flow nasal cannula, oxygen masks, and portable tanks
• Surgical drain management and isolation precautions

Required Skills

• Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Rapid Response/Code team participation
• Central line, PICC, and peripheral line care; phlebotomy; IV starts
• Blood product administration; heparin and cardiac/vasoactive drip management (no titration)
• Pacemaker care (temporary and permanent); PCA; feeding tube management
• Chest tube management; thrombolytic agents

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Float requirement: Yes
• Scrub color: Navy bottoms, navy or white top

Schedule: 4x12 rotating days/nights | Contract: 13 weeks | Start: November 2026
