Dialysis RN — Travel Contract | Rochester, NY

This 13-week travel assignment places an experienced Dialysis RN in an acute care inpatient dialysis unit serving adult and geriatric patients. The unit operates a 6-station dialysis suite with a daily census of approximately 40 patients.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Every other Saturday (unit is closed Sundays)
• On-call required: up to 3 shifts per month (max 4 overnight on-call shifts)
• Holiday availability required
• Float requirement applies

Requirements

• Active New York RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of dialysis experience
• BLS certification required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers welcome

Clinical Skills Required

• Hemodialysis and acute kidney injury/acute renal failure management
• Cannulation of AV fistula and AV graft; tunneled/non-tunneled catheter management
• Fluid overload, hyperkalemia, and hemolysis management
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Alarm management (blood pump, venous pressure, conductivity, ultrafiltration)
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Anticoagulation management and infection control
• Peritoneal dialysis/CAPD and vascular access troubleshooting

Additional Details

• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Previous charge experience preferred; community hospital background a plus
• Pre-approved time off: up to 10 days per contract
