Pediatric Surgical Nurse – 8-Week Contract

Shift: 4x10-hour (day or night, variable start times)

About the Role

Join a busy surgical services department handling approximately 20,000 cases annually across 16 operating suites. You'll work in a dynamic pediatric surgical environment caring for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and adults undergoing procedures across multiple specialties.

Service Lines Include:

Orthopedic, neurosurgery, craniofacial, ENT, dermatology, laser, plastics, endoscopy, dental, urology, cardiac surgery, and organ transplantation.

Daily patient census ranges from 80–100. You'll be expected to float within the department to meet clinical needs.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• At least 6 months of pediatric surgical experience (general surgery preferred)
• Current California RN license (pending licenses accepted with licensing ETA)
• BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications required
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Available to work weekends with scheduling flexibility
• Must be able to work full-time and remain flexible

Call Schedule: 4 calls per 4-week cycle, including night call. First week will consist of 8-hour shifts before transitioning to 10-hour shifts.

Time Off: Maximum 6 days RTO; must work 2 out of 3 holidays.
