Emergency Department RN – Knoxville, TN

Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This Emergency Department position focuses on boarding care — managing admitted patients who are awaiting inpatient bed placement, either in a designated holding area or hallway. When no patients are being boarded, you may occasionally be reassigned to an acute care unit within scope (expected to be rare).

Shift & Scheduling

• Days, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend and some holidays required
• Block scheduling considered

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Acute Care / Med-Surg Telemetry experience required
• First-time travelers may be considered based on overall experience
• Comfortable floating within scope to meet unit needs

Certifications & Licensure

• ACLS and BLS required
• Active Tennessee RN license or compact license must be in hand at time of submission — pending licenses not accepted

Additional Details

• Two professional references required (may be pending at submission)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Brief orientation modules average 2–4 hours (5-hour max); completed on-site and annually
• Prior electronic charting experience required for RN positions
