Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Blood Bank

Position Overview

Join the laboratory team on the night shift as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist specializing in blood bank operations. You'll work independently during a busy night shift, processing up to 50 samples daily in a high-volume transfusion medicine environment.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x10-Hour Night Shift: 21:30–07:30 (may flex to 20:00 as needed)
• Rotating weekends and holidays
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years current, hands-on blood bank experience (hard requirement)
• ASCP-BB certification (Clinical Immunohematology Science preferred)
• Proven experience in a high-volume trauma hospital setting
• Proficiency with blood bank software and automation systems
• Ability to work confidently and independently

Core Responsibilities

• ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening and identification
• Crossmatching (immediate spin, electronic, and IgG methods)
• Direct and indirect Coombs testing
• Transfusion reaction workup
• Specimen accessioning, handling, storage, and transport
• Quality assurance and regulatory compliance
• Independent night-shift decision-making with no on-site supervision

What We're Looking For

Seasoned travel professionals with proven blood bank experience. You must be comfortable working solo on a busy night shift and managing high-volume daily caseloads with accuracy and confidence.

Additional Notes

• Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays
• All scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application
