Medical Rehabilitation RN — Charleston, WV
13-Week Contract | 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
This inpatient medical rehabilitation unit provides complex, multidisciplinary care for adults recovering from neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. Patient diagnoses include cerebrovascular accident, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, neuromuscular disease, and severe deconditioning related to cardiac or respiratory events.
Care Model
Each patient is supported by an interdisciplinary team — physiatrist, nurse practitioner, nurse, therapists, and social worker — who collaborate on individualized care plans. Patients participate in therapy three hours daily, Monday through Friday, with an average length of stay of approximately two weeks.
Schedule & Hours
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
- 36- or 48-hour weekly guarantee options (discuss at interview)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Float within scope to other units as needed
- Block schedule requests considered — discuss during interview
- Orientation held every other Thursday
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years RN experience; 1 year in-specialty required
- Charge experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
- BLS required (AHA only)
- WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions with documented allergist/physician record only)
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (75–99 miles considered case by case)
